During our Mother's Day outing, the grand rocketeers and I managed to get in 6 flights. The Cohon D'eau and CrocNado each flew once. I found the dimensions of the StratoFins fin unit is slightly different than the necks of 2-L bottles as the latter won't fit on their launcher (without adjusting the release mechanism). No problemo, I merely removed the fins and screwed the nozzle base onto the bottle necks for each flight. Both flew with 400ml of water at 50psi. The flights proved the total unreliability of fall-away nose cones. Gravity is a harsh mistress and she ensured parachute-free prangs. The Cochon D'Eau merely needs some paint touchup whole the CrocNado also needs some glue on the 2-part nose section. Both will fly again.
The Hydro1L flew four times. Three were with a rubber stopper and the fourth was of the StratoFins launcher. I didn't measure the water and also flew at 50psi.
I tried the 12oz bottle with the Quest fin set, but the launch tube on the StratoFins launcher won't fit through the bottle's throat.
