Budweiser Rocket Car goes supersonic in 1979

This video is at least 20% awesome. I didn't watch the whole thing but rather just skipped around to the footage of the car running. Those parts are 100% awesome.

You aerodynamicists might be interested in the article, A Review of Chuck Yeager's Letter of Testimony on the Budweiser Rocket Car. Apparently, there was controversy as to whether the car actually broke Mach. Chuck Yeager testified that it had achieved Mach because you could see the rear wheels lift in response to a shock wave which would have propagated from the nose. The rest of the article analyzes that observation.
