  • Five Men Agree To Stand Directly Under An Exploding Nuclear Bomb, NPR (7/18, Krulwich) - Includes a video of the quintet of volunteers standing under a 2 kT bomb exploded at 18,500 ft above them. The article attempts to determine what became of them.  Some commenters dispute the details of the test, but I still find it pretty amazing.
  • Resolving the Pioneer Anomaly, Centauri Dreams (7/18, Gilster) - When Pioneers 10 and 11 passed about 20 A.U. from our Solar System, there were unexpected changes to their accelerations.
