Here is a great shot of Explorer from Space Center Houston's Facebook page. You can see NASA Road 1 and it's causeway over the tip of the lake. Whenever there was a tropical storm the lake would flood the road there, although it looks like it might have been built up a bit. JSC is back to the left and the Kemah bridge is up to the right. I think the building you see was the old home of the Lunar and Planetary Institute. While I wouldn't trade seeing the Explorer float in for seeing Discovery here in DC, it is cool and brings back lots of memories of the area. I haven't seen any photos of it being towed down NASA Road 1. These should arrive some time today.
