Sunday links and the like, on and off topic

Back in the 1970's, before there was Mike's Hard Lemonade or Zima,  there were cheap flavored wines such as Ripple, Boone's Farm, and Annie Green Springs.  These were actual wines vs. malt beverages.  Today, even the drinks marked by liquor companies such as Smirnoff or Bacardi are malt based.  Enter single malt Scotch in a can. For those who can't abide the fruity malt concoctions, you will soon be able to buy Scottish Spirits' 3 year old single malt Scotch whiskey in handy dandy 12 oz cans.  At 80 proof, that's the equivalent of eight beers and is supposed to be shared not guzzled.  I am not sure what to think about this and I'll let you decide for yourselves.

Scott Lowther presents some more artwork of some proposed NOVA vehicles, circa 1963.  (Follow the tag below for more information on the NOVA Class, heavy lift, solid propellant rocket designs.)

Check out some awesome Mojave sunsets over at Parabolic Arc. Some photos of a model of the XCOR Lynx too.

Yesterday, we got to 68 degrees, today a nice 52 or so. It appears this was Mother Nature teasing me. Wunderground predicts 34 degrees at Price for next weekend's MDRA Christmas Tree launch.  Unless this changes, the 2nd flight of the Flaming Christmas Tree of the Apocolypse will have to wait until later in the year. But, I really did enjoy this weekend!
