Launch site swallowed by suburban sprawl
This past weekend, I had the opportunity of visit with an old friend who was president of my rocket club back in my teenage years. The red patch on the attached map is the approximate location of our launch site, which was right across the street from his house. At the time, that was at the end of the world with nothing but open desert to the north. Now, there are housing developments all the way to the top of the image. I noticed a large open area to the west of the old site. I have no idea what that is, but it might still be a good spot to launch a few.
