More on Turbonique
My previous post on the rocket-powered 1964 Galaxie 500 got me looking for more info on rocket-augmented axles, specifically the Turbonique. I first found that Ky Michaelson, aka The Rocketman, was one of the original Turbonique dealers. He even has copies of a technical manual for sale and a gallery of various Turbonique-powered vehicles.
It looks like Turbonique made several products, including axles, superchargers AND rocket motors that could directly propel vehicles. Their products were powered by Thermolene, aka N-propyl nitrate.
The attached image came from iowahawk's The Real Acme, which gives a lot of detail about this amazing company. The word that comes to mind is muahahahaha!
