The launch was clearly visible from my driveway although it may not have been noticeable to the casual skywatcher. It was still pretty cool. Unfortunately, my photographs didn't do it justice.
Suburban southern New Jersey as well! Figured I'd try for an update one more time just past 23:00 and when I saw "LAUNCH" occurred a few seconds prior I ran out the door (to my driveway as well). Crystal clear skies first presented me w/ a shooting star, then seconds later, just "above" the roof line of my house, the rocket! From my viewing perspective it was viewable for at least 10-15 seconds, then the light (color of which matched exactly to that in your picture) disappeared. I was surprised at how long I was able to observe it since I even had time to point it out to my daughter who ran out after me to see if she could see it as well! Talk about in the nick of time... ;)
Cool! I didn't time it but I think we could see it for over a minute. I even think I saw it stage but at that far away and through the humid air it could have been an atmospheric effect (?).
